Today we are celebrating the story of Jesus Christ. Beloved we should always be under construction with God. We need always to be about God’s business in our pressure and our priorities. In everything we do it should reflect eternity. We should all remain “under the influence” of God’s influence. He knew us before we were knitted together in our mother’s womb, and He will know us and our story in the end of the ages. Why do we keep trying to steal the pen out of God’s hand to rewrite our story? My friend Annie O. has a saying that I love. She says,” I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn’t ,then to live my life as if there isn’t and find out there is. How many times do we think we have disappointed God, and we haven’t done Him right so therefore we can’t be truly loved and live a life of peace and blessings. Why is it so hard to forgive those who have wronged us and not truly forgive? Do we secretly not believe that we can be forgiven of all our sins, and we are loved by God?

Is God the same yesterday, today, and forever? Is He not the same God of Abraham, Jacob and Isaac? Is He not the same God as with the Jewish boys in the fire? Or with Moses in the burning bush? God is still writing our stories. We are confident that His word is true. We know that God sent his son to die for us because of His love for us. We know He endured the cross and ask for forgiveness of those who had wronged Him in His last moments. We are told in the word, that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. This week I got to share in a God moment with a friend of mine. Her husband had been rushed to the hospital in the ambulance. We prayed. God answered our prayers, and it was even better than we had imagined. He had died and been raised back to life. He was given a message from God to share, and God let him know he was not finished with him yet here on this earth,” My friend is blessed with more time with her husband. Dreams had come true and it was witnessed and noted. Many of Jesus” miracles were witnessed and noted and preserved for us all these years later in the bible.

When we pray our prayers do not begin or end with our words. First we think them, then we say them, believing, and they don’t end when we say amen. Our words are sent to Him who is seated at the right hand of God. Jesus’ story didn’t end at the cross, or even after the empty tomb, nor after the ascension into heaven. Our story is in the middle right now. We were known before we were knitted together in our mother’s womb. Now we are here, in the flesh as Jesus once was, soon we will be with Him throughout eternity.

What is Jesus doing now? He is lovingly sifting through His fingers all things that are bestowed on us. He was not defeated at the cross. He arose and is alive. He sits beside His mediatorial Father. He is still on the throne. Jesus reigns right now. In Hebrews 1:3 it talks about Jesus sitting in power, as Lord and human, at the right hand of the majesty on high. Yes, He came, and lived, died, and rose, and will come again and will judge. But what is he doing now you ask? He is sitting at the right hand of God. He is advanced to the highest favor with God the Father. With all fullness of joy, power over all things, and glory. He is defending His church and subduing their enemies. He furnishes His people with gifts and daily graces and makes intercession for us all. We are promised we will see him coming on the clouds of heaven. He also is receiving our praises and worship. He has been given the seat of honor, there to be served, praised, and worshipped, by men and angels.

We can then set our minds in individual and corporate daily habits and devotions on that which is above, not just what we are seeing on this earth. Col. 3:1`2.With this we can attend to the things of earth for His sake, in their proper time and place. #2 He sits in heaven on the judgement seat of all the world and all of history. From the throne He rules. His name is above all names. He is the head of the church. He will right every wrong and reward every cup of cold water given in His name. #3 He makes intercession for us. Having finished His atoning work and made purification of our sins, He made the very throne of God into a mercy seat. The mercy seat where in the OT only the priest could enter, and only once a year, now under the new covenant, we can draw near anytime, to receive mercy and find grace. He Himself is the mediator between God and man. He lives to make intercession for us. Hebrews 7:25. Jesus is our living link. #4. Jesus is not anxious or uncertain ,He is stable and calm. Seated on the throne, not running around crazy and confused.

So today, Let’s let Jesus write our stories. He is our identity as believers, He is our future as believers, and He is our joy, hope, faith, on earth as it is in heaven. Know we know what Jesus is doing, what are we allowing the Holy Spirit to do in us today? Through us and with us? Is He writing our beautiful glory filled story, or have we stolen the pen and am writing a different ending? Choose wisely. This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Let us enter His gates with thanksgiving and praise. Arise!!As for me and my house I declare, As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. What is the God moment you can share today? Love God and love your neighbor. Guard your heart and teach your children. Watch and pray.
