In Chapter 3 of Genesis

The serpent calls the Lord God only by the name Elohim. Clearly, he is addressing the Lord God on the same level as himself.

The serpent never honors Him as “Yahweh Elohim” which in the Hebrew text has much more expanding connotation concerning who our God is than the simple use of the word ‘God‘ “Elohim“,  but rather, He is the “Lord God.” “Yahweh, Elohim,” the only Supreme (Lord) over all, creater of all.

The 4 letters hieroglyph of His Name, grants to us a much greater understanding concerning

Who our God is: (Yahweh

Yod, Heh, Waw, Heh,

He is the

Absolutely All Knowing.

Absolutely Eternal

Absolutely All Powerful

Absolutely The Omni Present God.

Another partial rendering of the name, “Yahweh” pertains to His Eternal Existence, “without beginning and without end.”

Yahweh-Elohim

1. Always Was

2.  / is /

3. And Always Will Be

Of course our God has many other attributes than the short list here and the word Elohim can be also translated “among the mighty ones”

The Scripture Defines Who Our God is:

Our God Defines What Holy is:

1 Peter 1:16

because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I Am holy.

Our God Defines What Good is:

Mark 10:18

And Jesus said unto him, Why do you call Me good? There is none good but one, that is, God.

Our God Defines What Just is:

Isaiah 30:18

“Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you; therefore He will rise up to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him.”

Our God Defines What Mercy is:

Lamentations 3:22-23

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

Our God Defines What Love is:

1 John 5:16

“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in Him.”

Only To Name A Few Among Many.

Another Rendering Of The Name Of God: ‘Exodus 3:14

I Am that I Am is another rendering of Who our God says He is, as found in Exodus 3:14 as “Ego Eimi Ho On”  Rendering the Septuagint Hebrew transcribed after the Jewish exile into Babylon, later occupied by Alexander the Great who made decree during his expansion of the Grecian Empire to be translated into Greek and distributed among the Jews scattered throughout the known world.

———

When Moses encounters, “Yahweh Elohim” at the burning bush, Moses asks Him “Who shall I say sent me?”

Say to the Israelites: ‘I AM’ has sent me to you.’

Exodus 3:14 KJV

And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, “I AM” hath sent me unto you.

In John 8:58

Jesus said unto them, Verily, Verily translated Truthfully, Truthfully, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I Am.

Jesus answers the Pharisees “Before Abraham was, “I Am.” εἰμί

What Jesus said is this “Ego Emie“. ‘I am the I am, that Is Who I am.’

Make no mistake, Jesus was shooting as blunt straight a bullet to reveal His identity to the Pharisees and the Jewish people as one can possibly state.

And for those that may still question, He was saying this, Before Abraham was, I Am the I Am that had not only appeared to Abraham but also to Moses and now He says, “I stand here in your midst telling you who, ‘I am.’ “

In this manner, Jesus left no remaining doubts.

Before Abraham was, “I Am that I Am”  the same that appeared to Moses in Exodus 3:14

The “Ego Emie Ho On.”

I get the sense that they were murmuring among themselves, “Did Jesus just say what we think He said?”

Their immediate response is found in

John 8:59

Then took they up stones to cast at Him: but Jesus hid Himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

In Answer To The Question?

Who Do You Say, Jesus of Nazareth is?

Colossians 1:15-18 KJV

Who “Jesus” is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: for by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: All things were created by Him, and for Him: and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church: Who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence.

Revelation 1:8 NLT

I Am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I Am the One Who is, Who always was, and Who is still to come—the Almighty One.

Philippians 2:10-11

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Now You Decide Who Jesus Is?

And if He is who Jesus says He is. Shouldn’t you receive Him as your Lord and Savior?

Ask, Him, Now….

If you mean it from your heart, and surrender your life to Him, Jesus will make Himself known to you and Give to you His New Life.

You will be Born-Again.

With much Love
